Brief about Wakaf J&K

The Auqaf Organization has been functioning even prior to 1947. But the Wakaf properties were organized under Wakaf Act 1959 promulgated to protect and administer the Wakaf properties. The Act was repealed in 1978 and the present Act was enacted in 2001. The Jammu and Kashmir "Wakaf Act 2001" provides for the better administration and supervision of Wakaf's in the State.

Wakaf Objectives

The Wakaf properties are spread out all over the State but even the basic survey of Wakaf properties have not been done in most of the Districts/Tehsils. There is hardly any development of Wakaf properties and a very substantial income that the Wakaf properties could have generated for the welfare schemes of the community are lost because of non-development and large scale encroachment of Wakaf properties.

We Need To Follow Them

Our Message

"We salute the Waqifs who have dedicated their properties for the benefit and upkeeping of the community. Now, it is our duty to protect and preserve the waqf properties so that the desires of the Waqifs are fulfilled "
